A NEW Selecta diesel fuel pump takes the hard work out of fuel delivery.
Many traditional fuel pumps rely on a hand-winch system but the Selecta Fuel Cube runs on mains power and makes moving diesel from an on-site storage tank to a tractor or vehicle easy.
Manufactured by Italian diesel pump and equipment manufacturer Piusi, the Fuel Cube features a handy metering kit that counts litres of fuel and a 240V, self-priming pump.
The pump has a flow capacity of 70 litres a minute, which makes delivering fuel to large tanks, such as those in tractors and harvesters, a breeze.
The pump, which has been designed with operator safety in mind, has an internal bypass system that activates when the tank fills and the automatic shut-off gun activates.
The bypass allows the pump to operate for a three-minute period to avoid damage to the internal workings before it shuts off.
For a long working life, the pump and litre-counter kit is contained in a compact, corrosion-resistant metal assembly, which can be attached to a wall or similar structure.
Sturdy mounting brackets are also available.
The litre-counter kit is accurate to plus or minus 1 per cent, so there's no guesswork regarding how much fuel has been pumped.
Each Selecta Fuel Cube is supplied with a four-metre length of delivery hose and an automatic nozzle gun with a swivel connection to avoid tangles.
An on-off switch holster is located on the front of the Fuel Cube, which automatically cuts off the pump when the hose and nozzle are replaced, just like at a petrol station.
Silvan Selecta's Leigh O'Rielly said the Fuel Cube provided a convenient, safe means of transferring diesel fuel from a stationary tank into a vehicle, tractor or other equipment.
The pump is compact enough to neatly fit into most workshops.
The external dimensions are 380mm in length by 380mm in width and 480mm in height.
The Fuel Cube has a dry weight of 26kg.
