AUSTRALIA has lost the latest Trans Tasman Golden Shears test match to New Zealand.
The match, which was hosted by Shearing Sports New Zealand at Masterton on the country's North Island last week, was attended by an Australian team of three shearers and two wool handlers.
Young West Australian shearer Rocky Wagner placed sixth in the senior open final while Victorian John Hand made the open semi finals.
Rachael Hutchison, of Gilgandra, NSW, made the woolhandling semi finals.
Australia will host the return test match at Hay, in the Riverina, in October.

The 40th annual production sale will be an all-bull affair as the stud has sold their sisters to a Brangus operation in Queensland. The sale starts at noon.
Sale success
