THE latest and best in caravans, motorhomes, campers and tent trailers, fifth wheelers or other recreational vehicles are on display in Melbourne this week.
That's the proud boast of the Caravan and Camping Show, which opened yesterday at Caulfield Racecourse and will run until next Sunday.
Visitors will also see tents and camping equipment and a wide variety of camping accessories, as well as having the chance to meet TV personalities Geoff Cox, Spida Everitt, Frankie J. Holden and Michelle Pettigrove.
Free daily seminars will introduce industry experts who will cover such topics as touring Australia by four-wheel-drive, outback travel and destinations, safe towing and getting started on your holiday.
Visitors can also try their luck in the show's Passport to Freedom competition.
First prize is a new Goldstream Storm RL Vacationer off-road camper valued at $30,000.
Runner-up prizes include an Anaconda Spinifex Franklin family tent valued at $569 and an Anaconda Dune outback swag valued at $299.
Show times are 9.30am to 6pm from today until Saturday, then 9.30am to 5pm Sunday.
Entry costs $17, with pensioners and Senior Card holders at $12 and accompanied children under 15 free.
