The five-bedroom Victorian homestead, which is situated on lot one, was built by the Pope family in the 1800s.
The property was built with materials mostly imported from England, which were brought in by ship to Port Welshpool and transported to the property by horse and cart.
Peter said it had "had a bit of work done over the years" but he estimated about 85 per cent of the homestead was in original condition.
Original features include high pressed-metal ceilings, parquetry floors, back-to-back fire places, cast-iron lacework and bullnose veranda, original stone foundations and sash windows.
"It's a really beautiful homestead and a nice lifestyle here," Peter said.
"It's a lovely place and the views are spectacular."
Lot two, which is 80.93ha, is currently used for hay production and grazing.
The land has a heavy carrying capacity and fertile dark grey soil.
Peter said the area benefited from high rainfall. There were also rainwater tanks on lot one and 11 dams on lot two.
He said although lot two did not have a house on site, there were several ideal spots to build a home (subject to council approval).
The Lodge of Strzelecki is about 25 minutes' drive from Warragul, 30 minutes' drive to the coast and an hour from Melbourne CBD.
It will be open for inspection on Saturday between noon and 1pm.
