MARCH 15: A full brother to Australia's number one Angus bull for registrations topped the Ardrossan sale at $20,000.

Hosted by the Bulle family on-property at Holbrook, the sale drew 60 buyer registrations from Australia and overseas.

Western Australian stud breeder and repeat client Lew Smit, Koojan Hills Angus, paid $20,000 for Ardrossan Direction D196.

Sired by Ardrossan Direction W109, the 734kg July 2008 drop bull is a full brother to Ardrossan Admiral A2.

Admiral is ranked number one in the Angus breed for registrations, siring 2643 progeny in 163 herds.

A total of 63 bulls were offered with 62 sold for a gross of $319,500 and average of $5153.

Cattle sold to Victoria, Riverina, the Upper Murray, Queensland, Western Australia and New Zealand.

Vendor Robert Bulle was delighted with the sale result.

"About 80 per cent of the bulls went to repeat clients from the Upper Murray to Bairnsdale," he said.
