AUSTRALIAN trailer manufacturer Drake Trailers has teamed up with long-term customer Gavin Transport to show their support for The McGrath Foundation.

Based in Western Australia, Gavin Transport has been involved in heavy haulage Australia-wide for 18 years.

A McGrath-branded pink Western Star 4864 prime mover and Drake low loader will be driven across Australia from Brisbane to Perth, taking pride of place at the Melbourne show during its journey.

The McGrath Foundation was established by Jane McGrath and her husband, Australian cricket hero Glenn, to support women with breast cancer.

Before the journey got under way, organisers secured $100,000 in support.

Western Star has also backed the venture by providing the pink paint job and adding on major improvements.

Western Star has also offered to supply another 4864 prime mover (in white), valued at $300,000, to go on the back of the trailer.

Organisers are looking at ways to turn this into a raffle or some sort of auction prize, in an effort to raise a further $100,000 for the foundation.
