Department of Sustainability and Environment staffer Alan Webster (right) shaved off his moustache last Friday - after 32 years.
Alan said it felt very strange indeed to have the caterpillar off the lip and his three sons who have never seen him without it did a double take every time they looked at him.
Even more mo-mentous is the amount Alan raised - $39,000 at last count - making him the biggest individual fund raiser for the leukemia charity in Australia.
