James Boyle bought Hanley Park in 1974 and four years ago decided to build a new house on the property.
Hanley Park has 4km of Edward River frontage and the new homestead, designed by Jackson Clements Burrows, overlooks the river.
The homestead won the 2006 National Timber Design Award for its unique blend of style and function.
The two-storey home has three bedrooms and an office and features large windows throughout to take to in the views. The homestead also has an inground pool.
"It's a very good house to live in," James said. "It's got everything going for it. I can't really fault it.
"You stand in the house and you've virtually got 360-degree views of the river and the farm."
James said the river was ideal for swimming and fishing, with several sand bars, but also provided irrigation water for the farm.
"We've got rights to pump water out of the river," he said. "We've also got a very good fresh-water bore and several rainwater tanks."
James runs a cattle-breeding and fattening operation on Hanley Park's 255ha. He said last year he finished between 150 and 200 cattle.
The property is divided into about five paddocks and is easy to manage.
