FORMER Nationals Agriculture minister Peter McGauran must be a relieved man this week.
Now chief executive of the Thoroughbred Breeders Australia, Mr McGauran had invited former movie star Bo Derek (pictured) to Australia to look at horse studs, only to find her the star of a mid-air emergency.
The romantic lead in the 1979 movie 10 was flying to the Hunter Valley when her plane had an engine failure, forcing the pilot to an emergency landing.
All was well and Bo, who is now involved in California's horse racing world, was full of praise for the plane's leading man.
Mr McGauran was in another plane and waited anxiously for news of the safe landing.
You wouldn't want to have a famous hot celebrity like Bo plunging to her death on your watch.
