VISITORS to the Landpower Australia stand at Agfest can see the new Amazone UX trailed sprayer, which comes in tank sizes of 3200 to 6200 litres.
The UX series, with boom widths of 15m to 40m, featured many design elements which made spraying more efficient, according to Landpower Australia's Justin Fisher.

- Tasmania to shine at Agfest
"We call it 'speed spraying', which is all about lifting the performance of the sprayer," Justin said.
"This includes operations such as preparation and cleaning.
"Amazone sprayers are popular in Tasmania, as they are highly accurate, easy to operate and well suited to broadacre and intensive cropping systems such as potato or cereal growing."
The UX Super version of the sprayers can fill at a rate of 800 litres a minute, thanks to a 75mm suction system and oversized suction filter.
Justin said an induction bowl was suitable for liquid, granular and powdered crop-protection products and could be used while filling.
"Likewise, empty chemical containers can be rinsed using fresh water from the cleaning tank without having to stop the filling process," he said.
Justin said the boom design of the UX sprayers was lightweight and strong.
Standard UX units are fitted with Super-S booms ranging from 15-28m in width, while Super-L configurations are have working widths of 27-40m.
"The boom has 13 sections and each section can be shut off or on individually when spraying for extra flexibility thanks to the Amatron controller," Justin said.
"And the boom folds up neatly, giving a transport width of only 2.6m, even when fitted with a 40m boom."
An automatic boom height system ensures even coverage of the spray.
Amazone has not forgotten about cleaning up after spraying and has incorporated several design features in the UX to ensure it is quick and easy to flush and rinse the tank.
"A rapid and thorough clean-up is as important as the spray job itself," Justin said.
The 550-litre cleaning tank means there is enough fresh water to flush the whole system a number of times in the paddock, rather than back at the filling point."
