"The spaces are very big in the house and it's been designed to entertain and to do it in comfort."
The outstanding lifestyle property at sale was named The Prickle Farm, after the BBC series which aired in the 1980s and followed the adventures of two city folk trying to make their living on a ramshackle farm.
Madeleine said when she and Kevin purchased the property it was run down and had only a "tiny worker's cottage with a dirt floor".
In 2006, the couple built the luxurious, five-bedroom homestead overlooking Flooding Creek, Lake Guyatt and Lake Guthridge.
The huge house features a modern kitchen with marble and stone benchtops, a wine cellar, formal lounge and dining rooms, a large family room and a study.
Three of the bedrooms have ensuites and there is also a guest bathroom.
The property boasts an expansive decked area, solar-heated pool and an outdoor kitchen, all elevated, to take in the views of the lake.
There is a triple-bay garage and additional shedding and workshops.
The property has town water and two 45,000-litre tanks.
