NATIONALS senator Fiona Nash says the Federal Budget's a shameless con and completely ignores regional Australia.
She said there was no new money for roads, regional infrastructure or development, and no vision.
She told reporters if you believe what Kevin Rudd says he's going to deliver in this budget, then you believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden.
Another Nationals senator John Williams said if the budget didn't put pressure on interest rates it would be Mary MacKillop's third miracle.
Family First senator Steve Fielding said there was nothing to address housing affordability in what he said was a Melbourne-style gangland budget, all smiles on the surface but a dark underbelly underneath.
He's accused Mr Rudd of feathering his own nest by adding 86 staff members to his department following an increase of 60 staffers last year.
Greens senator Christine Milne said there was very little funding to tackle climate change and Australia's dependence on oil, warning it was false economy to drive up ecological debt to pay down financial debt.
