MOORABOOL Park is very much a family home, according to its owners, Teo and Lorrin Kaiser.

The couple started building the stunning Victorian replica homestead on the property in 2003 and have enjoyed raising their five children there.

"Teo wanted to renovate a (Victorian) mansion but never found a mansion that he really liked, so he built one himself," Lorrin said.

"It's a family-friendly home and it's an easy house to live in.

"The kids go down to the river in summer time and they've got their own water slide there.

"We've got platypus in the river and they watch them and go fishing.

"In winter they ride their motorbikes.

"It's a fantastic place."

Teo designed the homestead at Moorabool Park and he and Lorrin spent countless hours researching the best way to build their dream Victorian replica home.

The grand mansion features six generous-sized bedrooms, the main with an ensuite and parents retreat, an office, modern kitchen with walk-in pantry, four living zones and a beautiful conservatory that overlooks some of the property's 600m of Moorabool River frontage.

In true Victorian style, the homestead also has high ceilings and beautiful cornices.

"I love the open space of the house," Lorrin said.

"We've entertained lots of friends and we can have 100 people here and you don't know you're entertaining 100 people, except for the cooking."

Apart from the magnificent homestead, there is also one main paddock at Moorabool Park that is ideal for grazing horses or cattle.

Lorrin said the property was a peaceful place to live.

"It's very quiet and it's hard when you go back into town ... the bustle of town gets to you, because there is really just no noise out here," she said.

"It's just so hard to believe that we are so close to everything, because we have got such a rural and quiet area."

Moorabool Park is located about 20 minutes from Geelong and 60 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.
