HAWTHORN champions Trent Croad and Peter Hudson are calling for junior footballers from the bushfire-ravaged regions of Victoria to apply to be part of this season's HighMarks program.
Now in its seventh year, the program provides 12 participants with the chance to spend three days being mentored by senior Hawks players and learning about lifestyle choices and goal-setting.
HighMarks participants also get to go behind the scenes at an AFL game.
Hudson said he was delighted to support the courage and bravery displayed by young people in communities devastated by bushfire.
The program's sponsor, HBA, also donated new goal posts to the Alexandra Football Club.
- HighMarks will be held in the last week of June and is open to boys aged 14-16 who are nominated by their coaches or parents. Nominations close on June 7, with forms available from www.vcfl.com.au
