THE Bendigo Football League will use this week's interleague double-header at the Queen Elizabeth Oval to showcase its prowess on the netball court.

The league's netball interleague challenge will be a battle between BFL personnel and local politicians, media representatives and sponsors.

Former Fremantle coach and BFL chairman Damian Drum will head the league's team, with former Geelong player Gavin Exell and Sandhurst 300-gamer Matt Sexton at his side.

The league will also welcome a Melbourne Vixens netballer, who will take 25 junior netballers through their paces as part of a Net-Set-Go clinic. A netball activity centre will be set up to involve youngsters who aren't part of the clinic.

Netball will be on show from 1.30pm, with the exhibition match at 4.30pm.

Woewodin Swans in

BROWNLOW medallist Shane Woewodin became the fourth former Melbourne Demon to line up for the Shepparton Swans this season, in the club's win over Rochester on Saturday.

Woewodin, who played 200 AFL games for the Demons and Collingwood, coaches East Fremantle in the WAFL but took advantage of a bye to play alongside former teammates Russell Robertson, Adem Yze and Nathan Brown.

Saturday's match is likely to be Woewodin's only appearance for the Swans this season.

Premiers remembered

MACORNA Football Club will hold a reunion for its 1970 premiership team on May 29.

The Tigers beat Murrabit in the cup decider that year, in the now-defunct Kerang and District league. It remains the club's most recent flag.

Macorna president Greg Whinfield said the reunion would be held at the Tigers' match against Murrabit, with plans to have the two 1970 grand final captains involved in the coin toss on the day.
