TRACTOR restorer and collector Lou Iannacone will put one of his beloved Massey Fergusons to the test on May 27 when he embarks on a four-day road trip from Echuca to Melbourne.
Mr Iannacone will make the journey on a re-built TED 40 to raise awareness of cancer and to raise funds for cancer research.
His destination is the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in East Melbourne, where he hopes to arrive on Sunday morning after a stint in Lygon St.
Mr Iannacone's primary source of fundraising is a raffle which has a restored Massey Ferguson 1957 FE 35 as first prize, to be drawn on the Queen's Birthday weekend.
He will be selling tickets on the trip, which will stop at Rochester, Elmore, Heathcote and Kilmore.
Mr Iannacone, whose brother recently lost a long battle with cancer, is passionate about raising awareness of the disease.
"Unfortunately you don't have to look too far to find someone who has cancer or knows someone who has cancer," Mr Iannacone said.
Raffle tickets can be bought through Echuca TMV on (03) 5480 1234 or through Mr Iannacone on 0409 570 989.
A book of 10 tickets costs $50 and all proceeds will go to cancer research.
