THE Yarra Valley Mountain District league is on its way up the VCFL's Country Championships ladder, after defeating North Central to post its third successive interleague victory.

Yarra Valley had success in the first half, booting 48 points to North Central's 26 by the half-time siren.

North Central looked dangerous in the third term, kicking four goals and applying the pressure in the midfield.

Robbie Allen moved from defence to forward to boot two goals in the second half for the Yarra Valley team. He was joined by forwards Chris Murphy and Chris Hayes, who each kicked four.

Monbulk coach Luke McCormick enjoyed an impressive interleague debut, making his presence felt with 30 possessions.

Yarra Valley finished 42 points in front, and capped off the day with wins for their under-18 and netball teams.

League chief executive Stephen Walter said each match had been a "good feeling for all teams".
