VICTORIAN farmers affected by drought are reminded that the Farm Improvement Grants program closes this month.
Grants for improvements such as fodder storages and irrigation upgrades are available to those who have received Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payments between October 22 last year and June 30 this year.
Irrigators in the Northern Irrigation EC region are eligible for grants of up to $2000 if they invest $1000 or more on improvements. Non-irrigated farmers can apply for co-contribution grants of up to $1000.

Grassland Society conference
GREENHOUSE-friendly cattle, soil carbon, the impact of drought and climate change will be highlights of the Grassland Society of NSW 25th annual conference at Dubbo on July 28-29.
The conference opens with presentations by Cobar farmers Andrew and Megan Mosley and Nymagee farmer Peter Weston on how to adapt mixed farms to changing environmental conditions.
It will also include field trips and forums covering a range of issues.
