FROM the most experienced of competitors to the budding pony club enthusiast, Equitana will have something for everyone and every horse.

The three-day equine extravaganza, on November 18-21 at the Melbourne showgrounds, is expected to attract 55,000 people and more than 300 exhibitors.

This year, the spotlight will be on health and wellbeing - of the horse - in the Ranvet Horse Health Pavilion.

Inside, the Ranvet Horse Health Arena will play host to demonstrations from the industry's top vets, dentists, nutritionists and equine specialists.

Ranvet nutrition and animal health division manager Priscilla Spendlove said good horse health was essential for a successful horse-rider partnership.

"Traditionally, Ranvet has been involved in the Thoroughbred industry and more recently in dressage, show jumping and horse breeding but there will be lots of useful information available, even for people with just one pleasure horse that is ridden sporadically," Dr Spendlove said.

On offer will be a free nutritional analysis service to evaluate your horse's diet, and a complimentary sample bag of feeds and supplements.
