The homestead was built circa 1842 by Elizabeth Hume, sister-in-law of the explorer Hamilton Hume.
The house has been extensively restored and has four bedrooms, a formal dining room with an open fireplace, a lounge with another open fireplace, a renovated kitchen and a large cellar.
Lynne and Dale Ferguson have operated Byramine Homestead for the past 13 years as a tourism and hospitality business.
"It is not uncommon for us to host 100 guests for dinner, plus we offer devonshire teas, gourmet lunches and dinners," Lynne said.
"Our gardens are also keenly sought for weddings and business functions, with the environment and the elms affording a stunning backdrop."
During the design of the house, intrusions by bushrangers were seen as a risk, so three octagonal rooms were built to allow clear viewing for the early detection of unwanted visitors.
The largest and most central room in the homestead allows a clear view of all angles of the property and was known as "the fortress".
During the significant restoration of the property many original features were been protected, including French windows and high ceilings.
In addition to the homestead, there is a well-presented four-bedroom owners' residence.
