OLYMPIAN and World Cup dressage champion Steffen Peters will be among the big names at this year's Equitana Melbourne spectacular.
Mr Peters will be joined by decorated British three-day event rider William Fox-Pitt and Australia's own master horseman Ian Francis.
The four-day horse extravaganza, on November 18-21 at the Melbourne Showgrounds, will combine education with enjoyment to showcase equine experts alongside Australia's best competitors and international entertainers.
As Australia's largest multi-discipline horse event, Equitana boasts 16 different horse competitions and will this year include the grandest of them all - the inaugural Equitana Australian Open.
The Open will see riders compete over five disciplines - dressage, reining, cutting, jumping, and camp drafting - for a share in $300,000 prizemoney.
Crowd favourite, The Way of the Horse Australian Horsemanship Challenge, will also return.
Also on show will be trade sites from more than 300 international and Australian companies and specialist clinics featuring internationally renowned presenters.
Visitors will have the opportunity to attend educational sessions and soak up four nights of entertainment on the indoor arena. Or, for a more personal encounter, The Breeders Village will display 40 different breeds of horses from around Australia.
