A HOSTILE takeover bid, drought, supplier defections and a wild price ride - the Australian dairy industry has seen them all in the past few years.

And in the thick of it has been Murray Goulburn Co-operative, Australia's largest dairy processor of milk and largest exporter of processed food.

Its managing director, Stephen O'Rourke, will give his battle-hardened insight into issues affecting the dairy sector - and its future - at the Rural Press Club of Victoria breakfast on July 21.

The breakfast starts at 7.30am at the Hilton on the Park, 192 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne.
