IRRIGATORS in the Swan Hill, Gannawarra, Campaspe and Loddon Shires are being urged to take part in two Big Conversation seminars.
The seminars, at Barham and Echuca, will feature guest speakers and site tours designed to stimulate useful conversations and showcase a variety of options available to irrigators - whether it is expansion, diversification or exiting the industry.
The first Big Conversation is on at Barham on July 31-August 1, while the second Big Conversation is on at Echuca, August 9-10.
Calivil irrigators, Richard and Jacinta Hicks, can’t wait to join the conversations.
“In the current irrigation climate it is important that all irrigators make the best decisions in regards to their future with as much detailed information as they can get,” Mr Hicks said.
“With The Big Conversation we will get the chance to talk to other irrigators as well as listen to speakers that will help us shape future management decisions.”
The seminars, an initiative of Community Leadership Loddon Murray, are funded through the Victorian Government’s 2009 drought assistance package and supported by the North Central Rural Financial Counseling Service.
