FARMERS say they are not happy with an election-related delay in unveiling the new plan for the Murray-Darling Basin.
Authorities had originally planned to releasing a draft plan this month which will tell farmers how much they can use but delays and now the federal election have delayed this process. The Murray Darling Basin Authority says it can't release the plan now because of election caretaker period conventions.
National Farmers Federation president David Crombie says farmers from the basin states are upset and believe the Authority is dodging the release of its guide.
