A FAMILY day organised recently by the Victorian Goldfields Railway allowed a host of kids to really let off some steam.

"Steam Trains for Kids" offered steam train and trolley rides, an animal farm, Cobb & Co coach, working model railway and other entertainment for families.

The next "Steam Trains for Kids" event will be held at Maldon on October 2-3.

The Victorian Goldfields Railway is operated and maintained by volunteers with the Castlemaine and Maldon Railway Preservation Society.
