THE Maffra-Sale Motorcycle Club hosts its Great Divide Trail Ride this Sunday.

Using the club's Newry motorcycle track as a base, the event will offer a ride of 145km, consisting of two long loops.

The route will vary from open fire trails to tight, twisty bush tracks, all fully arrowed.

The cost is $75 and entrants will need a valid licence and a bike with a current registration.

The entry price includes a hot lunch at the conclusion of the day's ride, first aid coverage and professional sweep riders.

Camping at the Newry bike track is available from 3pm on Saturday at $10 a head, with full catering on hand and a community fire provided.

The Maffra-Sale Motorcycle Club has run continuously since 1947 and now has about 350 members with ages ranging from five to 75 years.

Members' interests cover almost all forms of motorcycle sport, including motocross, trials, enduro, road racing, historic touring and trail riding.

It maintains two facilities - its headquarters in Maffra and a 40-grid motocross park at Newry, featuring an undulating 2.25 km track with a mixture of surface types.
