LAKE Eildon has hit 50 per cent of its capacity for the first time since 2003.
Heavy rain in the Goulburn River catchments in the past few days lifted the lake by a staggering 5 per cent in just a day.

This compares to just 740,166 megalitres this time last year.
More than 160,000 megalitres has poured into the lake over the weekend.
Less than a week ago Eildon was at 43 per cent full.
At 8am Sunday Lake Hume was at 57 per cent, lifting 0.2 per cent from Saturday to Sunday after 92,453 megalitres had flowed in during the previous week. However, Goulburn-Murray Water has not reported tonight what the Sunday inflow was.
Dartmouth 39.8 per cent, up from 38.7 on Saturday after 21,765 megalitres flowed in in the previous week.
Again, this did not include Sunday’s inflows.
