A MAN allegedly stole a fire truck from Lake Charm and took it for a joyride before dumping it 100km later.
Police have been told the man, 30, broke into the Lake Charm CFA station about 1.30am, in northern Victoria, and stole a truck, the Herald Sun reports.
It’s alleged the man tried to hitch a ride with a passing truck, but the driver rang police.
He walked into Kerang before catching a taxi.
Police from Cohuna arrested the man about 7.45am as he was in the cab going home.
He was interviewed by police and is expected to be charged on summons with theft and driving offences.
