TECHNOLOGY normally used to find minerals is now being used to map the location and volume of aquifers.
Scientists from the Department of Primary Industries can produce three-dimensional images of the rock formations that contain groundwater.
Senior research hydrogeologist Bruce Gill said images provided greater clarity about the location and volume of groundwater and could offer more accurate information that should lead to better management decisions.
