CATTLE could be kicked out of the Alpine National Park within two weeks.
Federal Environment Minister Tony Burke is poised to have the cattle removed following his visit to the park last week. And part of the reason is an inch-long frog.

The Alpine Tree Frog, listed as vulnerable under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, lives in wetlands in the park. Scientists have said the cattle are damaging the frog's habitat.
The Weekly Times understands Mr Burke's federal environment department has written to the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment demanding it supply full details of the grazing experiment within the fortnight.
But the Victorian Government said it was fulfilling a legal responsibility to protect the park from fire and the Mountain Cattlemen's Association has labelled Mr Burke an "idiot".
