FAIRBROTHER Industries has added a new post driver to its range with the launch of a telescopic Expander model.
Complete with a 340kg hammer, the Expander can handle posts up to 4.5m in length thanks to its ability to extend to a height of 5.1m.
Fairbrother Industries' Ken Lawson said the Expander post driver was ideal for fencing in a multitude of situations.
"It's great for fencing in difficult conditions, for example when working under tree limbs, inside sheds or other hard-to-get-at places," Ken said.
Two models of Expander cater for either side or rear-mounted options, and Ken said it was highly manoeuvrable.
"The Expander has a really low centre of gravity, so it can be used on all types of terrain," he said.
"It also complies with the Australian Post Driver Safety standard, so it's easy and safe to use."
Ken said the telescopic post driver mast was double-flanged with bisalloy slides for extra strength. "The bisalloy is very tough, which provides plenty of strength for the mast," he said, "plus all the metal parts are sandblasted, undercoated, and finished with a two-pack paint finish for extra durability."
A hydraulic variable adjustment feature provides 10 degrees of forward movement of the post-driving mast and 20 degrees rearward.
The post driver also has a hydraulic side-angle adjustment, which means it can be tilted 20 degrees to the left or right for accurate post placing on uneven ground.
