Stuart and Sybella Fox purchased the property in 2002.
Stuart said Wirraminna translated to "peaceful beside the water".
"It's a magnificent spot. We're very sad to be selling it," Stuart said.
"It was our home but we moved to Melbourne in 2009 and it became a weekender for us. It's very peaceful and it has wildlife galore. The whole house overlooks the lake - it's a magnificent setting."
The whole house literally does overlook the lake with views from every room in the house - even the toilet.
The home has three bedrooms, open living spaces and excellent entertaining facilities with an in-ground swimming pool and an outdoor pizza oven.
"The kitchen and living and meals area is a big feature. It's open plan and there's plenty of room to move," Stuart said.
"They integrate really well - that whole area overlooks the lake."
There is also a detached one-bedroom cottage near the house, which used to be the original Winchelsea Post Office building before being transported to the property.
"It would make a lovely getaway for someone wanting to get away from the city," Stuart said.
"The house was already there when we bought, but we've certainly modernised it."
Water is supplied to the property via three rainwater tanks.
There are two paddocks and a dam, which could accommodate a few horses or some cattle.
Wirraminna is about 10 minutes northeast of Anglesea, 15 minutes east of Torquay and just over an hour southwest of Melbourne.
Stuart said despite the great location the property had a lovely rural aspect.
"You're right off the coast. It's very convenient to the beach but you've got the rural lifestyle," he said.
"You wouldn't know you had a neighbour. It's very quiet and very peaceful.
"It's a great spot for the kids to play. It's very safe."
