This project consists of a multipurpose sports stadium with storage rooms, canteen, office, toilet facilities and portico and foyer. The exterior of the construction is predominately finished in colourbond cladding, Exotec and brickwork. Internally the finishes of the main hall include radiata ply, acoustic corrugated sheeting, acoustic ceiling tiles and hardwood timber sports floor. Historic buildings situated beside the new construction dictated the style of the architecture on the south side while the design is more striking on the north side where there are no design constraints and a cascade of colourbond metal deck creates a striking effect.

The construction of this home was made difficult by its ridge setting, which required extensive planning to reshape the hill. The house is made up of three components, which required complex structural fixings particularly in plumbing to roofing components. An innovative feature of this stunning home is its security monitored front gate, which is situated over 2km from the home, connected via fibre optic cable to a fully integrated CBUS system. The homes electrical system and services operate via three touch screen panels to control lighting, slab heating, airconditioning, garage doors, thermal pool cover, audio and TV systems and eclectic windows and blinds.

This construction more than meets a long held dream of the Scots School Albury for its own indoor sports and recreational center. A requirement for the facility’s design was its exterior to be consistent with the secondary campus aesthetics. With meticulous attention to detail the building incorporates the same cream coloured brickwork with a terracotta base and banding as the surrounding buildings. There are circular cement columns supporting verandah roofing and grid pattern windows. The mass and colour of the steeply pitched roof tiles are mirrored in the use of terracotta cladding panels to the main facades.
