A MOTORCYCLIST has died after he hit a cow near Maffra this morning.
The 35-year-old man from Briagolong hit the cow while riding his Harley Davidson bike on Maffra-Rosedale Rd in Nambrok about 1.20am.
Police believe after hitting the cow he lost control and struck a concrete power pole.
A car travelling behind the man hit a second cow. The female driver, 37, from Stratford suffered minor injuries.
The man died at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
Victoria's road toll stands at 174 deaths for 2011.
