SOUTH Warrnambool capped a dominant Hampden league season with a 41-point grand final win over Warrnambool on Saturday.

The Roosters lost only once in the home-and-away season and proved why with a commanding four-quarter display to triumph 11.14 (80) to 5.9 (39) at Reid Oval.

The result was sweet revenge for the Roosters, who succumbed to the Blues in last year's decider.

With another year under their belts, the young Roosters shone, but it was co-captains Jarrod Thompson - who was best afield - and Danny Finn who led the way for the red and white.

Club president Gary Walsh said it was a great win for the club's loyal supporters.

"It's their win. We have built this team up over a number of years, and to win the premiership is great reward for all those who have done so much for the club," Walsh said.
