THE Victorian Country Football League remains in the dark about the outcomes of the AFL's controversial review of bush footy.

The review, led by AFL Victoria chairman Peter Jackson, was due to provide a report and recommendations to the AFL by the end of August, with the VCFL to be notified at the end of this month. But an AFL spokesman said the review process was continuing.

"The review is still being finalised but we're expecting to be in a position to announce something in the coming weeks, once the process has been completed," the spokesman said.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou announced the review in the wake of the resignation of former VCFL chief executive Glenn Scott in May.
