THE national capital will soon be fleeced when Merino breeders make a beeline for Canberra.
The Great Southern Supreme Merino show and sale will be held on January 22-23 at the Fitzroy Pavilion, Exhibition Park, Mitchell, ACT.
Gates open daily at 9am with the event closing at 5pm.

Hazeldean sale
THE South Australian leg of the Hazeldean Angus sale program will be held on February 14.
The stud's South Australian operation, based at Willalooka, will offer 60 bulls.
About 70 per cent of the bulls on offer have been sired through artificial insemination.
This, the stud says, offers buyers a wider choice of genes.
- For more details, phone Guy Cunningham on 0429 875 422.
Pathfinder busy
THE Pathfinder Angus stud will have a busy February, with field days and sales in both Victoria and South Australia.
Victorian dates: February 3 for the field day, February 22 for the sale, while South Australian buyers will see bulls on a field day on February 6 and a bull sale on February 16.
No teeth grinding
A REMINDER from the Department of Primary Industries that grinding teeth of sheep is prohibited.
The practice falls under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
DPI district veterinary officer Rachael Holmes said any producer who did this was "committing an act of cruelty".
Those found guilty of the offence could be fined up to $14,000 or jailed for 12 months.
Lardner update
PRODUCERS who entered the Lardner Park Steer Productivity Trial will be able to view the second turn-off of steers - but as carcasses.
The heavy domestic steers have just been processed, with a viewing of carcasses at Radford's Abattoir at 9am today.
