Stud breeders are reminded of the entry requirements. Animals must be tested for pestivirus and certified as "non persistently infected", with the proof of a signed veterinary certificate or laboratory report attached.
The Royal Agricultural Society will then verify this information.
Beef production
THE Landfall Angus stud will hold a beef production field day at its Launceston property on January 25.
Speakers include Holbrook Vets' beef production veterinarian Dr Reon Holmes, who will speak on female reproduction, sire bull management and calf weaning.
The field day begins at 12.30pm.

Feed quality
THE importance of feed quality is vital.
That's why there will be keen interest in the Fodder and Grain quality competition being held in conjunction with the Hamilton Beef Expo.
Entrants have until January 30 to submit samples of their fodder or grain to the Feedtest laboratory at Werribee, but a second sample must also be retained for display at the expo.

Making a profit
THE Dunlop Park Angus stud at Thirlstane, in Tasmania, will hold a field day on February 9.
Held in conjunction with Meat and Livestock Australia, the day will focus on profitable beef production.
Speakers include veterinarian Dr Rod Manning, King Island beef producer Fred Perry, and Peter Ball, who runs the More Beef From Pastures program.
