TRACTOR maker Case IH has upped the ante - offering a Harley-Davidson to buyers of its Puma range.
Case IH hopes to appeal to a farmer's inner wild child by including a Harley Sportster 883, valued at $14,250, with every Puma LWB CVT model sold before the end of March.
The Iron 883 Sportster comes with 12 months rego and factory warranty and enough torque to pull a small plough. Case IH product manager Tim Fanning said innovative marketing helped sell tractors, with last year's Scout utility vehicle giveaway selling hundreds of units.
"The Harley-Davidson, in some ways, is running off the back of the success of the Scout program, and leveraging the Harley brand," Mr Fanning said. "It's outside the box. It's very different to what our competitors are doing.
"We've secured an extra supply of the Puma CVT models from overseas and we want to move them.
"It's a pretty attractive carrot."
According to Harley, the bike will "shoot you into the modern rebel culture and keep the rebellious fire burning".
If the Harley deal is not enough, farmers can also double their tractor purchase and add a machine from Case IH's Maxxfarm range, which will get them a $1500 Visa gift card - enough for a set of leathers or a night in town with the partner to discuss the midlife crisis.
