A LARGE crowd tuned out on the Paynesville foreshore for the East Gippsland Shire Council Australia Day celebrations.
The formal proceedings near Progress Jetty included a citizenship ceremony and an address by the shire's Australia Day ambassador Vedran Drakulic about his humanitarian work with Oxfam and the Red Cross.
A big birthday cake was shared for the ‘26ers’ – local people who celebrate their birthday on Australia Day - kids dressed up their bikes and the historical car society put on a display.
