MURRAY Goulburn suppliers will receive bigger pay cheques after the company announced a second step-up this afternoon.

The step-up takes MG's weighted average price to $5.22kg/MS.

The company announced an eight cent a kilogram butterfat increase and 20 cents a kilogram protein today.

"The loyalty bonus is effective from January 1 with retrospective payment on premium and base quality milk for the period July 1, 2011 to December 31 and will paid in case on February 15," the statement reads.

Managing director Gary Helou has told suppliers in the letter the market remains solid but the high Aussie dollar and weakness of the Euro are concerns on the radar.

"With these factors in mind we have again reviewed our forecast final weighted average milk price for 2011/12. We have maintained this forecast at $5.30 kg/MS on a weighted average basis subject to the remaining sales being delivered within forecast limits."
