Last week in the Australian Wool Network catalogue he received 1220c/kg greasy for a five-bale line of 17.3-micron wool 74.8 per cent yield weaners wool.
Although he thought the real surprise was the 1084c/kg greasy for a 7-bale line of 19-micron wool. In October, Mr Renkin shore 3000 Merinos, bred from Montrose Hill rams. He also joins portion of the flock to White Suffolks and calves down 180 cows.
Wool prices were steady last week with the AWEX Eastern Market Indicator closing the week down one cent at 1193c/kg.
Fox and Lillie auction room buyer Brian Gaine said the market was being driven by supply concerns rather than demand.
The other notable feature from last week's market was a lift in the 16.5 micron and finer wool types. The southern indicator for 16.5 micron closed the week up 40 cents to 1915c/kg clean.
