THIS is the moment a young racing driver lost control of his father's cherished car - and ploughed it into Tasmania's Huon River.
George Miedecke, 25, was driving the classic 1970 Ford Capri Perana after his father, Tasmanian racing legend Andrew, let him race in the Targa Wrest Point rally.
But he left the road on a tight corner at 130km/h and plunged into the river - where a Subaru WRX STI, driven by Ralph Norton , had also found its way into the water.
