LANDHOLDERS in southern NSW can learn more about cost-effective rabbit control from expert Brain Cooke next week.
Dr Cooke will speak at the Pretty Pine Hall on February 16 as part of a workshop presented by Murray CMA and Riverina LHPA.
Dr Cooke was instrumental in developing the calici virus and is working on new and more effective strains.
Dr Cooke said farmers would be caught out by complacency about rabbits.
"The virus wiped out millions of rabbits, but we have taken our eye off the ball and now need to combine effective biological control with conventional control methods in the arms race against rabbits," he said.
The workshop is at the Pretty Pine Hall, Cobb Highway, 20km north of Deniliquin, from 9am to 1.30pm.
The session is free. To register phone (03) 5880 1400 or (02) 6051 2232.
