SIMMENTAL bulls made to $29,000 at Woonallee's 40th annual sale at Furner, near Millicent South Australia.
The top was just shy of the Baker family's previous top of $30,000.
The complete sale of 38 traditional Simmentals averaged $8144 while seven composites reached a top of $8000 and average of $6071.
PTIC heifers reached $7000 and averaged $5166 while young unjoined heifers achieved a top of $12,500 and averaged $5107.
Buyers came from throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Buyer of the top priced bull was Audrey Weightman, Topweight Simmentals, Margaret River, Western Australia.
The polled bull was 22 months old, weighing 1050kg and sired by Tornado.
Mrs Weightman said she had bought from Woonallee before and said she was "nearing my limited" on the price but the bull offered the full commercial package.
She bought the $30,000 bull from Woonallee four years ago.
Under-bidder this year was Cam Emerson, Alva Downs, Coleraine. He bought another bull for $17,000.
Principal Tom Baker said the result was "overwhelming".
