THE Trucks In Action and Civil Works Expo 2012 at Lardner Park is set to rumble into life again from Thursday, February 16.

Expected to attract thousands of patrons, the three-day power fest near Warragul involves millions of dollars of road transport and civil construction equipment.

The event is specifically tailored to the civil construction industry and incorporates the ever-popular Trucks in Action component, a mainstay of the transport industry.

There also will be a wide range of associated equipment and services relevant to the road transport and civil construction industries.

Held at the same location as Farm World, the event will carpet the site with trucks, trailers, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes and all manner of transport and construction equipment.

The popular machinery demonstration area allows prospective purchasers to "trial before you buy" on a big range of popular machines within three fully enclosed areas.

And several exhibitors, such as Case and Supergroups (Kubota), have expo sites where the public can trial machines.

The Trucks In Action component has its own pit-lane at Lardner Park.

Putting trucks and trucking equipment to the test under typical load and road conditions has been a winning formula for Trucks in Action for many years and prospective buyers can choose from a range of trucks and join the driver around a 9km test route.

The combined expo is pivotal in the industry calendar.

Civil Contractors Federation chief executive Claude Cullino said the Lardner Park Civil Works Expo would be "the key Victorian civil construction trade event for 2012".

New to the event will be daily runs of a monster truck performed by Gippsland-based Monster Trucks Australia while the Trafalgar Truck Restorers Club will host a display of over 130 historic trucks from throughout Australia in the Jim Bury Memorial Truck Display.
