AN elderly man is fighting for his life after being found unconscious hours after he fell through the ceiling of his home in Gippsland.

The 70-year-old man was discovered on a concrete slab at his home in Moe at 12.30pm yesterday, the Herald Sun reports.

He had serious head and pelvic injuries after he fell almost 3m to the ground.

It is not known how long he had been there, but an Ambulance Victoria spokesman said it was possible he had fallen through the ceiling on Friday.

The man was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and remains in a serious condition.
