Brian Patten from Upper Plenty came across this unfortunate chap.
The poor fella had driven into a big hole while he was keeping his eyes peeled for wild dogs seen lurking around his property.
A couple of scratches and a small dent in the sill under the driver's door was the only damage, Brian said.
That and presumably a little dent in the driver's pride.
