EDEN Crossing at Beaufort represents eight years of back-breaking but rewarding work for owners Clare and Rob Ashby.
What was a bare 9ha block with ample water now boasts a restored, renovated and extended circa-1900 classic Federation weatherboard home, complete with established garden, gravel drive, private lake and shedding.

"We have slowly turned it into something very, very special," Clare said. "Eight years of blood, sweat and tears have gone into making 'the paddock' quite a delectable home."
The couple relocated the three-bedroom home from Brighton, adding an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe to the master bedroom, decking at the front and rear of the house and modern kitchen, laundry and main bathroom.
The cook's kitchen includes a combustion stove, electric stove and marble benches. It looks over the casual meals area and entertainer's deck.
Period character shines throughout the home's original rooms, including a formal lounge and wide entry with inviting lead light windows.
Open fireplaces, high ceilings, ornate plaster and ceiling roses abound.
The master suite comes with multiple commercial options.
"We designed our master bedroom with its private entrance (and deck), enormous ensuite and walk in robe to work as a bed and breakfast or farm stay," Clare said.
Beaufort is 160km north west of Melbourne.
