A 21-YEAR-OLD man has died after his ute slammed into a tree in the Victorian beachside town of Lakes Entrance.
Police say the man was driving his Ford utility on The Esplanade when he lost control of the vehicle, mounted the gutter and struck a tree about 1am this morning (AEDT).The man, from Bairnsdale, died at the scene.
Victoria's road toll stands at 70, 16 more than the same time last year.
